Wallace Herndon

Wallace is a Human Resources professional with over forty years of broad union and non-union experience in such corporations as General Electric, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Fruit of the Loom. Having worked at both plant and corporate locations, he has an extensive background in the design and implementation of Total Quality processes, cultural assessments and surveys, executive coaching, outplacement and career transition programs, employee work teams, affirmative action and cultural diversity programs, human resources policies, and union-free strategies.


Wallace is a hands-on and results-oriented individual who has been a trusted resource for over 30 plant human resources professionals in his position as Director of Human Resources in a major Corporate Headquarters setting. Wallace has had extensive experience conducting cultural assessments for such organizations as Sumitomo, William Dickies Manufacturing Company, and Graves Gilbert Clinic. In addition, he has conducted extensive outplacement and career transition programs for companies such as Bosch Corporation, HeathCo, Commonwealth Brands, Sumitomo, and Fruit of the Loom.


Mr. Herndon has served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southern Kentucky, Franklin Simpson Chamber of Commerce, Franklin-Simpson Arts Council, and Franklin-Simpson Educational Excellence Foundation. He is Past President and a member of the Mid-South SHRM Association. He has served as President of the Simpson County Literacy Council and Vice President of the Franklin Rotary Club. He is Past President of the Logan/Simpson/Warren Counties University of Kentucky Alumni Club and former Board Member of the University of Kentucky National Alumni Association. He is Past Board Chairman and current Board Member of the Lewis Manor Assisted Living/Lewis Memorial Home. He received the Bristol-Myers Squibb Volunteer of the Year Award and United Way of Kentucky Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.


He holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Kentucky, and has completed graduate work in Industrial Relations at West Virginia University. He has also completed Advanced Executive studies at Harvard University.
