David Gibson, PhD

DavidGibsonDavid is an experienced organizational consultant, facilitator, and executive coach. Over his almost twenty year career, David has served in positions of leadership in higher education and healthcare as well as consulting with leaders in a multitude of industries. David has helped clients overcome blind spots in their leadership, build on areas of strength, develop strategic plans, understand the importance of culture and change, and enhance communication and trust. David is an especially effective coach.

In addition to his experience as a coach and consultant, David has a strong background in training, organizational development, management, and higher education. He has been responsible for facilitating culture creation, managing departmental budgets, managing operational and employee issues, and project management. David has also held faculty appointments at colleges in Wisconsin and Kentucky where he taught both at the graduate and undergraduate level. Courses taught include: Leadership for Human Resources and Organizational Development, Organizational Change and Consulting, Strategic Human Resources, Research Methods, Organizational Interventions, Adult Learning, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Groups and Teams, and Gender and Communication.

David holds a Ph.D. in Leadership and Organizational Development from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. His research focuses on trust in leadership and its effect on job satisfaction and turnover intent. David also earned Bachelor degrees in Political Science and Communication from the University of Louisville, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
